Special Session I

Cooperative sensor networks: hardware implementations, demonstrators, and measurements

This special session addresses recent advances in the field of cooperative sensor networks with particular focus on efficient hardware implementations, realizations of testbeds/demonstrators, and analysis of real word measurements. The session will cover all aspects of the network starting from RF over baseband to higher layer procedures in a unifying cross-layer perspective to capture the real-world requirements that are indispensable in cooperative, heterogeneous sensor networks. Prospective authors are invited to submit papers in the following areas:

  • Efficient hardware implementations for RF and baseband, e.g., real-time, power efficiency, computational efficiency, HW efficiency
  • Software-defined radio testbeds and demonstrators, reconfigurability in RF and baseband
  • Higher layer aspects, e.g., protocols, routing
  • Proof-of-concept of novel transceiver designs and communication principles
  • Deployments of wireless sensor networks
  • Implementations of networks of heterogeneous sensors
  • Measurement campaigns
  • Statistical analysis and evaluation of real-world measurement data

The same submission guidelines apply as for the regular papers submitted to SPAWC 2013 and can be found in the general call for papers.
